About

Delgado Community College is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology to provide students with both theory and practical skills in all phases of hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, makeup application, and salon management. Our student’s practical skills are developed through experience in an on-site salon which is equipped and managed according to industry standards by the students with instructor supervision. Upon completion of this program, which is 1500 clock hours, students are eligible to take the LA State Board of Cosmetology licensure examination.

Delgado Community College is an open admissions institution, as established by the Louisiana Legislature and approved by the Board of Regents and Louisiana Community and Technical College System.

Any person above the age of 16, regardless of prior academic preparation, may be fully admitted to Delgado as long as the following criteria are satisfied:

  1. The person has completed and submitted an application for admission.

As well as these two requirements, which will be part of your admissions process (and we can help):

  1. The person has provided proof of selective service registration as required by Louisiana.
  2. The person has satisfied the requirements of Louisiana related to the immunization of persons entering school
