About

The Plumbers and Steamfitters training program consists of classroom/shop instruction (Two nights per week, two semesters per year) and on-the-job training. Apprentices earn raises every six months through completion of courses and excelling in job performance. Upon successful completion of the five-year program, the Apprentices become Journeyman as Plumbers, Pipefitters, or HVACR Service Technicians. (All licenses and certifications are obtained prior to completion.)

What skills and credentials will I gain?

Plumbing, Welding, Blueprint Interpretation, Computer, Drafting, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Refrigeration, and Rigging are some of the technical training courses that are offered. Safety training is integrated into every course. All accepted students will be enrolled with the Louisiana Technical College System as well as Washtenaw Community College. Students who successfully complete courses will earn college credits that can be used towards an Associate’s Degree in Construction Supervision.

You must have a high school diploma or State accredited GED certificate. We provide assistance with obtaining your GED through our educational partners. Please call for more details. You must have your own mode of transportation (car, truck, etc.) You must be at least 18 years of age. You must be a US Citizen or legally allowed to be working in the United States.
