The Paralegal Studies program educates and trains paralegals to work under the supervision of attorneys in a variety of settings including law firms, insurance companies, government agencies, title companies, banks, and corporations.

Paralegals are trained in legal research and a range of aspects of law and order to support lawyers in their daily work... Conducting research and investigations; helping to prepare cases; drafting legal documents; interviewing and preparing witnesses and clients for depositions and court appearances; and, performing other, administrative duties in law offices are some of the daily tasks paralegals perform.

Nunez and Loyola University have an agreement where students who successfully complete their Associate of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies are recommended for admission and eligible to have 100% of their credit applied to a Loyola University Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Justice! Upon earning the BA from Loyola, students then become eligible to apply for law schools throughout the country. As such, earning an AA degree in Paralegal Studies from Nunez is an excellent and affordable pathway to law school!

High school diploma or equivalency. Nunez Community College is an open-enrollment institution. This means that regardless of your ACT or COMPASS scores, you are eligible to begin enrolling in classes on our campus.
